I want to change my fluid and I think there is a drain plug in it already:doh:, but not sure. Is there any other drains on the tranny? It is toward the bottom of the tranny and looks like a oil plug drain type thing? LOL. Ill try to take a pic tomorrow morning, but I think its already installed.
Also I plan on using AMSoil ATF, is that a good choice for this tranny.

Typically we put the drain plugs on the very bottom surface. The two that are on the side are for something else, even though you can drain most of the fluid out through one of them.

Any decent ATF is good for the tranny, especially if it's street driven.

If it has a drain plug installed it'll be on the bottom, horizontal surface of the tranny. There is a bolt near the bottom that holds some of the internal mechanisms in place...do not remove this bolt. It'll drain fluid if you do, but if things don't go together exactly right when you put the bolt back in, or if the shifter gets bumped, it's tranny removal time.

If there isn't a drain plug on the very bottom, horizontal surface of the tranny, it's not hard to put one in, even while the old fluid is still in the tranny.

Instructions here.

This photo shows the MTX drain plug location, as installed per the shotimes.com instructions. Please ignore the oily mess, leaking rear main seal; now fixed. I tried Valvoline Dex/Merc fluid from NAPA after recommendations on this forum, and I am very happy with it. Shifting is much smoother than with Mobil 1.

I do not have the aftermarket drain plug. I did drain it through the one that is on the lower side, got out 2.5 quarts. I hope I didnt mess anything up by doing it this way, I drove it afterwords and it goes into gears smoother than before, guess nothing moved?
