Hi there, I have a 94 ATX with about a 1/4 of an inch in play in the steering. I have had the problem for as long as i've owned the car. I'm wondering if its just something that needs adjusting or if its my steering rack just getting old?

The pinch bolt is there. It connects the steering shaft to the input shaft of the rack. Keep looking.

Which tie rod ends were replaced? The car has 2 inners and 2 outers. If only the outers, for example, were replaced, the inners might still be bad.

Inspect your ball joints while you're at it.
