So after seeing the spy shots of the 2013 taurus with matte black 20" rims, I decided to plasti dip mine. I will also, in the coming weeks, plasti dip the lower valance as the plastic has started to fade. The wheels were done with 5~7 coats of black plastidip, and then 3 coats of "glossifier"

Although the black on black isnt my choice it doesnt look too bad. I just dont like the PlastiDip period. I think you would have gotten a better look by finding the link to the tire refinisher thread on this forum. Mobile trailer comes out, sands and refinishes your existing wheels and can make them almost any color to match. You still get the black on black and looks like a cleaner install.

I have to say that the glossifier isn't a great idea, it is much harder to use correctly, and it leaves a weird texture. I will definitely be peeling it off soon. While I somewhat agree with people who don't like plastidip, it is the best way to change up the look of your car without having to worry about damage. I've also decided that getting a corsa exhaust is a higher priority than new rims, so the plastidiped rims are going to have to suffice until i can get more funds for a new set of rims.
