Its been quite awhile since i've last posted. Anyhow, my sho has been parked for a long while since i have been away at school, and it needs some repairs done. What i'm planning on getting repaired/replaced is broken shift cable, O2 sensors, plug wires, and possibly cv joints. Any estimate on how much cash i'm looking at here? By the way, its an 89 sho.

well how much do you plan on doing yourself? the plug wires can be had for $110 or lees if i recall correctly, and the two O2 sensors will cost about $80-$100 total. both of which are easy enough to do on your own. ive never repaired a cv joint or shift cable but hopefully someone else will help you out. good luck!

About $325 or so for parts, except the shift cable problem.

O2 Sensors $90
Wires $100 add plugs for $25
CV half Shaft $60 ea

As for the shift cable, need more info. Depending on what is wrong, it might be fixable for a few bucks using the MOPAR clip. You can get details here using the SEARCH (keyword "MOPAR") and by going to www.shoclub.com, click on "Members Only" (membership not required), then scroll down to the Cable Shifter Fix article.

Well i'm not exactly mechanically inclined when it comes to cars, so I won't be doing any of the work.

Hey,

Seriously, I had never done much serious car work before a year ago and now I've got a SHO torn apart to replace a clutch. It isn't that difficult to do, and with the experience here it becomes even easier. Also, you're in Akron? I'm from the Columbus area (school in Cincinnati). If possible maybe I could give ya a hand. O2 sensors are a piece of cake to change, as long as you loosen 'em up with PB Blaster or WD40 before you try and remove them from the pipes. My SHO was from N.Ohio and it has some rusty bolts! Plugs and wires are even simpler, but make sure to use GOOD WIRES!! I've taken the whole drivetrain out to remove the tranny, and the CV joints are a bit more involved, but not terribly difficult compared to doing the clutch.

I've found that having other people work on these cars sometimes results in: boink boink . Both cost wise, and quality of work (and parts too)!
