According to the Helms Manual you are suppose to replace the ball joint pitch bolts and nuts whenever they are taken loosen. Is this a safety issue or overkill.My worse fear is to have front collapse at interstate speeds(80-100).

I don't know how important replacement is, but if you are replacing the ball joint, most new control arms should come with a new pinch bolt anyway. I think it could be a safety issue if the pinch bolt is worn or rusted, but if it looks fairly new I would think it would be fine. Thats just my guess though.
