Update:
Went to pick up the car. According to Carmax, all it needed was 2 small dents pulled in the passengers side front quarter, and the passengers side wheels had some curbage.
Now for the actual condition.
All 4 wheels curbed to ****. Giant gash from top to bottom on the trunk. Straight through the ford emblem, and down the bottom side of the trunk. Every single panel on the car had a gouge, scratch, ding, or crease. The passengers side rear door had a crease right through the seam of the door skin. Looks like someone tried to slam the door shut with a large screwdriver in the door. Every piece of non painted abs plastic trim underneath the car had at least one gash or large scrape mark. The front spoiler had a large triangular puncture on the drivers side. I was ******.
When my wife and I pulled into the lot at Carmax, there was a black SHO in the parking lot. Already had the Carmax cone magnetized to the roof. I pointed it out to my wife. I told her it looked like a great car. But I was skeptical that the mileage was low enough to consider. I took a peak in the front lower grill. Sure enough it was a PP car. Mentioned to my wife that if the Carmax sho (gray) wasn’t as advertised, that I would see what’s up with this one.
So during my rant at the sales manager about paying for this car to be shipped here under false information, the owner of the black SHO is watching the whole conversation.
We started talking. His car has 37k miles. Exceptionally clean. Livernois tuner, plugs, stat, map. Massaging seats, PP, etc. they offered him 21k. I swooped in and offered him 22k. I promised myself that I wouldn’t own another black car. But considering the chain of events, this might be my fate.
Since it’s already tuned, that would get me closer to my tuning/mod goals. I could just go right into Alky kit and full suspension. The only thing I don’t like is the 37k miles. But for 22k on a clean PP car, almost can’t pass it up.
I’ll give updates as things unfold.
