Phat SHO is at my local Goodyear to be looked at, its been down for almost 3 weeks but when I started it up today expecting more of the same dry bearing grinding noise the car just purred in a strong "SHO" kind of way. It started making these sounds and I let everyone here know to give some input on my downed SHO's problem. Well so far the car has been in the shop 45 minutes and the service manager has already called saying that they reset/erased the memory codes and no new fault codes appeared and the car was running very well. Also when I was taking the car to Goodyear tire I live on 44th st and McDowell and the Goodyear I go to is McDowell and Scottsdale rd. not more than 5 miles or so away. The car ran like new and I didn't understand it but I kept on praying that all was good, I thought I was home free till the car just shut off, no rumbling, just off and I coasted into a shopping plaza on Scottsdale rd. and McDowell 1 block away from Goodyear tire store. I stopped the car and then started it up with no problems I drove the 1 block to Goodyear and it parked it and now they cant find anything wrong with it. Go figure! I will have more info this afternoon as I get it they said they're going to look in few different areas. It has a new fuel pump installed (last week in Aug) new water pump, new fuel filter and carbon cleaning plus oil/filter and **** done in the last 4 months. I was told I am in need of struts now. Any words of wisdom, prices and amount of work to change....can a novice change with instruction and help....SHO Drivers enlighten me with your wisdom about our fabulous choice of cars to enjoy.

Phat SHO/ Virgil

P.S. Sorry guys I won't be able to make the GTG on Sat. I'll be out of town but I'll keep in touch and reading on and taking notes. Talk to you guys later.

Virgil,

While you had the water pump being replaced, you should of had them throw a new crank sensor in her. Sounds like a cam or crank sensor problem, and I think both should log a fault code if they fail. Let us know what the Blimp guys say and don't let them talk you into a "let's replace this part and see what happens" course of action.
