Has anyone used the 12S brake pads on a 2010 SHO w/o the 12S package? Do they fit? Do they improve brake performance?

I haven't swapped them since I don't have a 2010, but I know they will fit because they both use the same calipers and rotors.

What we need is bigger calipers and rotors not just new pads.

Probably because I've driven so many vehicles with terrible brakes, especially the big block muscle drum brake cars from the 60's, I have no problem with the SHO brakes.....but a larger diameter rotor would help, look at room inside the wheel well to allow that.

Yea, you can fit a 17" rim over those brakes.

BTW, is that jackstand on an aluminum control arm? If so, I don't think that's such a good idea, even if it's cast iron because a control arm is not designed to take a load in that direction and could bend or crack easily. Now, that mounting location for that control arm on the subframe is a much better spot. Just looking out for your safety :thumb:

The jack stand is only there for my safety, I moved it there for this photo, there is NO weight on it, the jack is on the subframe.

I've worked on Cup cars for 38 years as a mechanic.
I have a clue.

Thanks for thinking about me though :)

Oh, ok. I didn't mean it to come off as arrogant. Sorry if it did. I just didn't want you to hurt your $40k new car or yourself.

Yes they would fit..But they are not much better if at all. I blew through mine in testing the exhaust after making just a few runs.. I would say dont waste your time with them..

If you go to the convention, Ill will be releasing the brake pads need for the stock car in three forms.
fronts:
Better than stock
Autocross
Race day

there will be two levels for the rear as well. and if all goes well I will have the Stainless lines to replace the crappy rubber ones.. cant guarantee the ss lines but im hopeful.. Lots of shop work going on and that must come first..

Hey Kirk, look forward to meeting you at the convention. Are you by chance going to be releasing the catless downpipes there as well?

Ill be there with everything atleast on the car.. I hope to have spares of everything with me...

Sorry for being slow in releasing any info because I just dont have much time.. Been hit pretty hard with older SHO stuff in the shop and that for now is my bread and butter. Over the last month in a half ive been a bit injuted with cracked ribs, back stuff, put a screw driver through my hand and yesterday I ripped a patch of skin off my arm about the size of a phone while running a 9" wire brush on a subframe to get it ready to paint.. So needless to say im working slower..

I hope to have the mtr swaps, frame swaps and other present customers orders done for July 1, then I can finish up on the stuff for the new car and bring it to the convention.. Hey that gives me a WHOLE 10 days to get it done.:nut:

Will for sure have the following.
Info on brake pads and how to buy
2 of my x pipes there for sale.
Safe tunes for the car.. NOT like what others sell.. these will also have free upgrades so as we do more you will get more.. but if I dont completely test it I wont sell it.. ( my own rules on that one) with multiple engines that have blown up now from bad tunes (inside intell) it will take me longer to just tell people 4xx hp and safe. I really dont want to but you a motor! :salute:

Stainless brake lines should be on the car (hopefully)
Cat delete pipes should also be on the car. (hopefully)
Finish with the Chrome delete vinal kit. At least installed....

Also after the track day, I will ofer up the exhaust under my car to someone for a trade plus some cash.. I have some more ideas and dont want to cut up my stock system.. No offers here.. deal at convention.. Ill be the fat drunk guy..

I just hope to have enough time.. Im behind by 1 week right now and working as hard and as fast as I can.
