Hello SHO performance fans,

Is anyone interested in performance cv axles that can handle up 325HP? I spoke to a shop that is very well known and I personally delt with for my aluminum driveshaft. They sell a set for the sho for $600 no core needed. I think he will go down to $550 for 10 or more on a group buy. What do you guys think!

Joe

(Same post from sho performance)

I think it's about $150 + core for one rebuilt. Maybe less now do to there are so many used axles that some company's can mass produce alot of rebuilt units. But I know first hand that a stock driveshaft is no match against a powerful motor...so I figured the same for cv axles... What do you guys think did anyone ever have trouble with any axles?

Mark N used to snap many with his SR71 race sho. used to bring spares with him to the track. That's what has me worried about my new setup. (Built 3.2, 200hp of n2o)

Joesho-the added power of n2o is not going to break the axles.Trust me,if anything you`ll have clutch problems. The reason Mark has broken them is that he runs on drag radials, and launches hard.
Sho91mtx-did i read that right, you want to run a 200 shot of n2o?The only way that`s going to happen is with a direct port kit.The dry kits are really only safe up to 80hp,and the wet kits are not an option.I`ve always wondered how high you could go to on a DP set up.I think the engine would handle quite a bit,but it`s VERY expensive.

Shawn and I have discussed direct port N20 several times with reference to Doug Lewis's set-up. The highest shot he recommended is 120hp or maybe 150hp. This was of course a $4500 built 3.2 before you added the N20.

For that small amound of n2o,plus the price of the kit,it`s a waste.I said it`s not safe to go over 80,not it can`t be done. You can get 120 out of a dry kit.If it`s a problem,it`ll affect the #1 plug if anything.

Back to CV axle issue. Has anyone ever broken one while autocrossing their SHO? I am setting my plus up for autocrossing this season and I will have a decent amount of torque with my set-up.

hehehehehe check out NOS' new setup.... NOSzles. Add that, plus a progressive timer, and a built 3.2 with beefed up rods and pins will make a very nice combination. I will have 2 other motors, so experimentation will be in the works. Don't forget, Mark uses his psycho clutch now!

:p *Waving a Sign for People to buy me*

I'd sell my SOUL for a NOSzle system. Unlike other kits, this direct port system is only active when the injectors are active. No NOS overdose in that. I'd say a 200 shot is very possible.. and did you see the Torque gains off this bad boy?! Like I said before, a STOCK '99 GT Stang gained nearly 217 AT THE WHEELS!
