I want to improve the braking performance on the SHO some. To at least get it somewhat better. I don't need anything major, its not gonna be raced like my focus. What kind of performance pads and lines are available for front and rear? And where can I get them.

Also what springs would be recommended to replace my rears and keep a nice ride but not lower it? Any other than stock?

you can use the search button there's plenty of info on both of those topics in this forum.....but I would say if you're just looking for a better pad I'd say hawk performance pads are pretty good, ive used them and they are definately better than stock. As for springs..if you're not looking to lower the car, I personally think the monroe quickstruts are the best bang for the buck...they come completely assembled struts and springs together...for like 120 a piece or somethin like that. The pads you can get at summit racing....and the monroe quick struts rockauto I believe.

I've got the Hawk HPS pads on my focus and love them. That would be great if I could get those for both front and back on the SHO.

as for the rear springs, that's not too bad, but so far the struts seem ok, the ride is good just sitting down a bit low. No I"m not gonna lower this car its gonna be my winter car for this year till I can get a truck, maybe lower later, lol.

I would use search, but I have very slow dialup and it takes forever and a day to look through all those threads.

First step: Bleed the brake system and use a good high performance fluid like Valvoline Synthetic [available at AutoZone].

For the brake pads, Performance Friction pads are a great choice. They use to be available at my local AutoZone but they no longer carry them for the 89-93 models.

Another set that's good and doesn't fade like generic crap is Bendix CT-3, available at www.partsamerica.com

A good spring choice for the rears that are nice and do not lower are MOOG cargo coils. A search will have more info on them then you would imagine.

I like PFCM pads. I have the Z-Rated pads on the front and standard pads in the rear. I also had my brake system flushed and refilled with Ford Heavy Duty Brake fluid. The Ford Heavy Duty brake fluid has one of the highest dry boiling point short of full race synthetics that cost $70 per liter. The disadvantage is the Ford fluid has a pretty low wet boiling point. The advantage brake fluids like the valvoline synthetic is a higher wet boiling point.
Earls make DOT approved stainless steel brake lines for the SHO. I have them on mine.

Many road racers are also using the Axxiss pads and love them; very little brake dust, long wear, no rotor damage and virtually no fade after running the hi speed Road America track for a weekend...

well for fluid I'll prob just stick with Ford heavy duty since I do work at a dealer ;)

sounds like some good recommendations for pads, I don't need anything for racing really though. This car may be run down the strip once in a while but that's pretty much it. Just want something to stop a bit quicker on the street in an emergency stop. It can't even come close to touching my focus in the stopping department and its got drums in back. I'll have to look around and see where I can get some of these and their prices. I really need the rears right now cause my left rear caliper is bad and I need to replace the pads too of course so thought I"d get good ones while at it, and do the fronts soon too. Where can I get some of these? I"m gonna look into getting stainless lines too, it can use all the help I can get, lol.
