Whenever I open or close the door theres always two dull, but audiable thumps. Just "Thump thump", like that, the door shakes a little when I do that as well, it hops up real slightly on each thump too, but I can't see a thing, so I have no idea what it is. Any thoughts?

I dont know if this has anything to do with what your talking about but i noticed on mine shortly after i got it that all the doors closed nice and thump like cept my drivers door which had a loose sound to it. I got to looking and the metal piece that he latch hooks onto is supposed to have a plastic shell that goes over it to i suppose add cushion. Well mine was cracked and almost gone and was creating the sound. I took some heavy duty black electrical tape and made a replacement shell on that metal piece by just rapping tape around the little piece and i made it even and neat looking and that made my door sound like new and also stopped a squeak i was getting when driving. I used black electrical tape and by the way i rapped it around there you would think it was stock. My 89 was missing all of them so i did the same thing to it and it made a big difference too. I did this to my 93 back in september and to this day the tape has held up well and its doing its job. To me my method is more efficient then the plastic shell ford put on there because the tape adds a bit more cushion and looks better. Dont know if thats what your asking or not but i thought id tell ya what i did for mine :thumb:

Check for worn hinge pins or a broken hinge.
If the noise is inside the door check for a broken rivet that holds the window mechanism or the motor.
