I'm trying to get some wiring from front floorboards into all 4 doors. I found and bookmarked this a while back for future reference:

but what Mike says is the easiest (front passenger door) I'm having a heck of a time doing. Getting to the rubber sleeve and pulling it away from the door is fine, but I can't seem to figure out how to get wires from floorboard INTO the sleeve. Almost looks like the blower assembly has to come out.

Anybody messed with this before?

I'll update since this got a "like" . . .
Can't remember what the exact solution was, but like most things with cars, your ingenuity has to rise above the challenge. It was a matter of just pushing the wires up into various angles and eventually, they found a path that lead to the rubber grommet access. Once I had them poking through there, I used a length of double twisted solid 12awg bent into a hook at one end, and fished it through from inside the door (removed front speaker of course) to pull the car-side wires through to inside door. This was a bit cumbersome as I recall since I was pulling 4 x 20awg and 2 x 18awg through. Slightly OT . . . getting wires to the rear door was *fun*. I basically followed directions in link above, but ran 2 x 20awg and 2 x 18awg (had to drill a bigger hole in plastic adapter to accommodate). Also ran 2 x 18awg to rear wheel well, which required drilling through some damn hard steel. Sealed up with double shrink wrap and silicone. Once project's done (most likely after I retire and have time to finish it), I'll post pics, vids, diagrams, etc.

I hadn't seen this post earlier. The way I got the wires into the doors, like you experienced, was alot of wrasslin' and coat hanger wire and duct tape bent all kinds of ways to snake it in. I hate the stereo setup in the GenIII's with a passion and my first aftermarket stereo install was my last. If it was easier to navigate the dash contours and door wiring I would consider another GenIII if the mileage was low. I love driving stick but there are real advantages to GenIII handling, braking, and sound of that v8

I would recommend for future endeavours, look to Home Depot / Lowes for one of their "snake" or "fish" wires. They are usually made of a flexible metal... Having not done this myself, I am just thinking how I have seen this problem resolved in other situations...
