Parasitic Battery Drain '14 - Have a question.

Don't connect the trickle charger to the negative post??? Then how is the battery going to charge if it isn't connected to the battery post? Also, I read in here recommending removing cables from the battery when trickle charging. What's the point of that? I've been trickle charging motorcycles for years using an auxiliary cable I plug into. Thanks for the clarification.

Great video! Thanks for the education. The guy mentioned BMS started in 2011. Was it added to the 2010 SHO? Thats what I have.

I think the BMS started in 2013 on the Taurus. See if you have a sensor on the negative cable as shown. #2

When charging, connect to the positive post and a good ground. The battery is grounded and will make a complete circuit. This allows the BMS to see the current flow.

I think the BMS started in 2013 on the Taurus. See if you have a sensor on the negative cable as shown. #2

No sensor on the cable but I started connecting to ground anyway.

10/23/23 update:
So I’m still waiting on the new SYNC 3 APIM unit however I swapped back my old SYNC 2 APIM unit and first noticed how blistering hot the back was on the SYNC 3 unit so the diagnosis was correct. Also my battery amp draw went down significantly! Does suck this happened as SYNC 3 is so much better but oh well.

Thanks for sharing... my condolences it's so much better to drive with sync 3.4 no doubt. Seems like a long bit to be waiting.
