Has anyone looked into reprogramming the paddle shifters/manual mode? They seem to REALLY suck compared to all the other cars I've had them in. The shifting is also extremely slow.

I would venture to say reading your other posts the unknown tune in you car is affecting performance including the transmission. With that being said, I would put in a reputable tune from a reputable tuner for our platform. That will help.

Afterward, start using the paddles more and more. The transmission learns.

You will find most of the faster SHO pilots, do not use the paddles for performance. The way the transmission learns and can be tuned, it will be faster to just let it shift on its own esp in regards to straight line performance.

If you are doing autocross or spirited mountain driving (which I am sure you are being CO) and need to hold certain gears for certain sections then paddles are the way to go.

Yeah its for canyon driving that im really wanting them, thats good to hear, the guy told me he returned it to stock and I went into the tuner myself and selected that option as well, I also reset the tuner to factory and totally wiped his tunes all together because i didn't trust them, im just concerned theres some lasting effect from something that didn't get reset. I have a set of tunes on order from 5star

5 star really doesn't have a presence in the SHO community, that is why we don't highly recommend them. I know they are big in the f150 community. However H.O.E. is right, if you want the best trans tuning Gearhead is the way to go.

See it looked to me like 5star does a bunch of ecoboost stuff. Has somebody had their tunes and not liked them? These ones are just for the next like 6 months anyways, like I said I'd like to get a tuner that I can tune the car myself

Just because a tuner can tune a bunch of EB stuff doesn't always mean they are good. There are different nuances in each platform. I am sure their tune will perform, however the recommended ones on here are vetted and proven on our platform now for years.

Recommended: AJPTurbo (I am bias for good reason), Gearhead, Ortiz, and Unleashed. <---- all provide revisions and data log reviews to extract the most and safest performance form your particular SHO.

Gray area: 5 Star, BCB,

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS: LIVERNOIS AND SSI.

Well i ran off and ordered from gear head upon recommendation. But they are giving me just a 93 octane performance tune for 150, I was hoping to get a 91 octane economy tune as well, im having a hard time deciding between working with you guys and gearhead

We don't sell by the tune, we offer a tiered approach with free revisions and updates until you modify your car beyond the base support level, then you just pay the difference to upgrade.

Don't use 5*
I hope you didn't get them yet.
5* disabled my knock sensor and my engine blew .
Besides every single tune they gave me made my car worse.
I know of several other ecobeast owners that have had blown engines shortly after using 5* tuners..
If you did already get them how are they?
Maybe they decided to improve their business?
Maybe it was just the person that I was dealing with did something very wrong..

I would be very cautious about things from them either way..

Its been a couple years now and I used to have proof of the problem from the 5* tuner file but I don't have anymore..
