On/Off Check Engine Light

Recently, my check engine light has been coming on about 5 minutes after I start the car, then goes off 15 minutes later, then 5 minutes later comes on... and it just repeats the process. I've checked fluids, general engine check and nothing seems wrong. I asked the internet for how to get error codes from the CEL (Turn key to on but don't start, pump accelerator, then hold accelerator, get codes) but no dice.

My old '93 did this. Changed the O2 sensor and still did it. Pulled the plugs and one was obviously lean. I suspected a bad injector but got rid of the car before I could confirm it.
