Guys, shortly after I got my new a/c put in with the new compressor, I noticed that the pulley for the clutch didn't exactly match up with the rest of the pulleys. When SDPATT and myself did the 60k we just used a 5 rib belt and put it on different grooves of the a/c pulley than the rest of the pulleys. Worked okay so far, but here's my question.
I was surfing shotimes, and they have a posting about changing the gapping on the a/c clutch. According to the post, there are shims behind the clutch pulley that gap it in or out to match up with the rest of the pulleys. If I remeber correctly, (my car is at Scotts right now) my a/c compressor clutch pulley sits "in" too far into the engine and would need to be gapped out, needing an additional shim. Where do you get these shims? Do you have to buy them from ford? Or can you jerry-rig something else into there to gap it out more? Has anyone else had this problem? I really would like to put the 6 ribbed belt that Vladim sent me for the UDP's on to prevent any slippage.
