Hi guys, I am not very good at trouble shooting, and it has been way too cold outside to look, but I will try my best to describe the problem.

For a while now when my car idled, there was a small amount of oil dripping onto the manifold (I assume?) Well it has been cold, in the 0 - 10 degree range for a couple of days. I always let my car warm up before I drive it, but as the days progressed it has gotten worse. I didn't notice oil under the car either.

Today I let my car warm up for about 20 minutes and drive down to the Kwik shop to get a paper. When I got back in the car it was so full of smoke I had to shut down the car open the doors. I didn't notice any smoke outside the car, but it was pretty windy out. It is definately oil smoke.

I am guessing that it is a valve cover gasket, but could it be worse? I need help here, this is my everything car, so I need to get her fixed. Thanks :thumb:

Sounds like the rubber firewall seal is displaced or broken, allowing engine compartment fumes to get sucked in the heater intake opening. This seal attaches to the crimped lip of the firewall and presses up against the hood when you close it.

Well that sucks brontosaurus balls, I suppose finding another would be next to impossible? Does it sound like a bad leaking valve cover gasket though?

I forgot to mention I had the heater on high on the floor and defrost. Would that have allowed some smoke into the cabin?

:thankyou:

You really need to start with finding the source of the leak. You could guess for days on where it is from, you just need to find it.
