Ok, so Ive noticed that my oil level sensor hasent been sensing too well. In fact, not at all. I checked the oil a day ago and it was a little below where it would normally be where the car would light up the check oil light. It hasnt been working since I changed the rod bearings. Is there a replacement? I haven seen one anywhere. Is there a fix to it? Thanks in advance

That sensor switches on the light at about 1 1/2 to 2 quarts low.

hmm. Unless its just that the car hasent been using as much oil, the oil seemed a bit low on the dipstick. The oil was reading at the Add instead of the Add 1 quart line.

I believe you can only get them at the dealer. I got a quote yesterday of $48 or $24 with my discount.

It probably still works. When my oil is low enough for the light to come on, the dipstick is usually bone dry.

If anything, next time you change the oil, turn the key to ON while the oil is drained. If the CHECK OIL comes on and stays on, it's good. If it comes on and then goes off, the switch is bad, and will need replacing.

The dipstick will be dry if your low level indicator comes on. IIRC, the dipstick only displays about a quart when full.

About 1-1.5 quarts are on the dipstick. Which means...that the light should never come on...... :bonk:
