oil leaking on cat

I fixed the problem with coolant leaking on the cat. Now I have oil leaking on it, and it is creating alot of smoke. What oil seal leaking would cause oil to drip onto the cat? And how would I replace it?

The front main seal is the most common cause for that. It is best to replace the water pump, timing belt, and Crankshaft Position sensor while you are down there, seeing as all that will have to come off anyhow.

I replaced the timing belt and water pump, and the guy who had the car before me replaced the cps. Is it possible that when we were putting back on the crankshaft pulley that the seal could have developed a leak. Also is the front main seal also considered the crankshaft seal?

even more common than that ia the cam seal for the Cam position sensor. it is right above the P/S pump

Or you can get real lucky like me and have them both leaking at the same time!!!

I did the SAME exact thing.I replaced water pump and got it all back together,and its leaking oil all over the cat!!Talking about being ******
