I was driving my car tonight and I noticed the interior lights were dimming and going back to normal. I didn't notice till I got behind a car but the headlights were doing the same thing. They were flipping out. So what could this be?? It was really making me mad cuz everybody thought I was flashing my high beams at them. I even got a Prelude to race on accident. Atleast I beat him!!

hello man,

also you might want to check your alternator out. i bet you is the voltage regulator going out.. the same thing happened to me and a new alternator fixed the problem..
by the way i smoked 3 cars today :dribble: :naughty: and got smoked by one though :bonk: .. a 2000 accord <<---:hpoop: , a 96 civic <--- :hpoop: , and 94 mustang <--- :hpoop: i believe was a 3.8 automatic one.. got smoked.. :naughty: :nut: and i got smoked by a BMW 330 CI :omg:
well TISH happens.. good luck by the way.. but i bet you that the problem once again is the voltage regulator,....

It could very well be the alternator. I'm not sure if an alternator from a 94-95 is direct bolt on, but they make 140 Amps, instead of the weaker ones from before that.

ATX Alts make 120 amps
MTX gen 2 alts put out 130 amps

FWIW my car does the same thing. The difference is slight but it happens. My battery puts out 14.07 volts when running though...

wood e,
i know that in automatic SHO's of second GEN put out 120AMP but the manual ones put out 90AMP cause my 92 SHO uses a 90 AMP alternator.. but anyway so this thread is understable this guy's problem is the alternator (voltage regulator).. change that man and you will be allset to go....

Yeah my car is doing it pretty bad. I drove the car the other night and it wasn't doing it. But it started yesterday. Alot of things are flipping out.. Like my temp gauge sky rockets! But my engine is not running hot. and also my tach will flip out but not to bad. Im pretty sure that these are all interconnected. Is there a way that I can check the alternator with a multimeter?? Or should I just take it down to autozone and get it checked out?

Thanks,
Mike

Hey, you guys turned out to be wrong. That is a rare thing! But I was talking to my buddie and he said how do my terminals look? I said they don't look great. So he grabed my power wire and gave it a yank and it poped out of the terminal. OPPS!! So we striped the power wire, cleaned up the termanal, made some nice connections, and redid the ground wire. Started it up tonight took it out for a drive, and THERE WE GO!!. All perfict. Oh yeah my temp gauge went down to normal to!! And i did a radiator flush and my temp went down!! It used to be in the N, now it is down to the R-M. So my car is comming along nicely for once!! Now i just need an aliment and ill be set.
