I'm moving the conversation to a specific thread, I hate when my threads are hijacked and start going off into things they have no relation to. So I'm starting a thread here. We started speaking of 3D printing custom OBD2 port covers for the SHO platform. The covers are to put on your OBD2 port when taking your car to the dealership. This is a deterrent to a tech plugging in and casually re-flashing a "update" or such that would **** or mess up your tune.

Anyways, here are some examples... TSNF DTMS MKS

Cost breakdown is pretty simple. between my filament and printer power usage and time, it cost about $1.39 to make one. Flat rate boxes from USPS are $8.30. So let's say $10-12 per port cover.
I currently only have black PLA, black nylon, Blue color change PLA, and clear PLA. I can actually also make them in 3D printed aluminum but that machine is expensive to run so it would cost $100. Just PM if you want one. Include what text you would like and such.

I don't want to add any expenses but if you can get red, I'll take one. My car is red and it just overall stands out. So if a Ford tech is trying to flash something, they will take more notice to it.

If not red, I'll still take one.

I can order red PLA, you'll just have to wait for the order to come in.

That's cool. I have my other one I can use in the mean time. Plus I have no plans to go to Ford anytime soon. I don't mind waiting.

I want to see if anyone else has any cool sayings before I decide but I'll go ahead and pay you if you can send me your info.

I went ahead and ordered multiple colors because the delivery time is currently Apr 23rd!! wow. Unfortunately PLA filament is not something I can pick up locally.

I’m in for a good old fashion black, ‘don’t touch my shit.’
But... could you make the text raised as opposed to indented? That way it’d be easy to paint the letters.

Yeah, I can totally raise it instead.

yaycandy, you wouldn't have anything plugged in when going to the dealership for work.

I still have a warranty, showing off my tuner to the dealer tech does nothing but gamble a denial on work.

I only went to the dealer like once anyway. I dont trust the dealer. I overpay and go to a performance shop even in warrenty because i dont mind paying extra for the best in high performance late model knowledge. They got me running Motul 300v ester core oil and man was it an instant difference on how the car runs. Dealer wouldnt of said anything about it. Just an example of why i dont go to the dealer.

I like this but my cover is always off anyway due to my aeroforce interceptor gauge. Now if you could make a 7" emblem all in black with the letters S.H.O. raised 3/16 off the surface I would be interested.

Can you show me a rendering/drawing/doodle of specifically what you're wanting? I can definitely print things that are 7" wide.

Like this but all black so black letters too, and maybe thicker letters but raised off the surface about a 1/4". What are the dimensions that you can print? Curious for another idea I've been kicking around.7inch SHO emblem

Is that the front grill emblem? I would need the ellipse dimensions to make sure it aligns properly.

Maximum build volume is 10” x 6” x 6.7” for in house but I can outsource to pretty much as big as you can imagine. Money is really the only thing that stops print size.
