No tach 94 3.0 MTX

I just Rebuilt and reinstalled a Powersteering pump on my 94 MTX. all is good with the steering, but as i drove out of the shop I noticed that my tach was not working. i cannot think of anything that I may have disconnected that would affect the tach. does anyone have a clue on this?

I checked with the local Ford Dealer when I was having trouble with my tach not working right, and they said that the tach was run off the CPS.

If I am correct the CPS sits right above the Power steering pump. That could be it.

Its reads off the CID (Cam sensor)

The CPS (crank sensor) has NOTHING to do with the tach.

The CPS (crank position sensor) is located by the crank gear behind the lower timing belt cover.

The CID(cylinder identification) is on the right bank, on the exhaust cam. Located above the P/S pump.

Thanks i will check that sensor to see if it is connected. If it were indeed disconnected wouldnt that cause a bunch of other problems?

The extreme cases of REALLY bad CID , the car doesnt start , it only cranks.

Thanks to all, the CID was indeed disconnected. I hooked it back up and away we go.
