Anyone have an issue with " No Key Detected" even thou there is a fob in the vehicle?

Was it a constant issue or an intermittent issue. And did Ford find the fix?

Assuming you are experiencing this issue, have you tried installing the fob in the holder of the center console to see if it's detected that way? If so, the battery might be weak.

I'm not sure if the fob of the SHO is like the Intelligent Key of my prior Infiniti, but if I left that fob in the car for several days it would **** the battery in the fob. However if I stored the fob several feet away from the car for the same duration the batteries were fine.

I've encountered the problem a few times, but normally with another set of keys or heavy clothes and the fob in my pocket...once I got the IA key out of my pockets, there didn't seem to be a problem.

My issue is I generally keep a fob in my pocket.

I hop in the car and go. Sometime during the trip the "no key detected" warning comes on.

At which point, I'm screwed if I turn off the vehicle. Drive home and get a spare fob. Then I turn the car off and restart

Sounds like the battery in your fob may be weak. If it tries to leave you stranded sometime, you should be able to place the fob in the box within the console to get the car started, even with the weak battery in the fob.

You could pull the battery out of the fob and measure it to determine if it's low, or just replace it and see if that fixes the warning. It uses a 3V Lithium CR2032 battery.

I've never had a problem with "No Key Detected" once the car detects the key. I agree, I would try a new battery in the fob and see if that corrects the problem. Good luck, keep us updated if you find the problem.

I'm having this problem. I put new batteries in both fobs, worked once then wouldn't work. Dealer says it is a RF modulator.

Car should be able to detect a chip(immobilizer) no matter what. Try touching button with your key and see if it starts. I had problems opening and starting all NIssan cars when keys got cold, but manually they worked as long as remote was close to ignition.

Will do. But as long as they are putting a new one in, I'm cool with it.

Well the dealer put in the Rf modulator. Didn't work, they are now keeping the car overnight. I hope they can fix it tomorrow.

Still not fixed. They think it could be the external antenna. I hope this works.

I keep a spare key in an Altoids metal box in the trunk just in case I ever have a problem. If the battery fails, I can use the door key to get in the vehicle and then retrieve the spare key.

Both key fobs aren't working. I don't think it has anything to do with the keys.

Crazy,

I'm curious where is this external antenna located. I would like to look at mine and make sure nothing that is obvious is blocking the signal.

I experienced this error message for the fist time yesterday in my '11 SHO. The error message came on for about 15 minutes after driving for 90 minutes. When I backed into a parking space and put the car in park, the message went away. No issues since then. Not certain if backing up, putting in park had anything to do with the error message going away
