I am looking for another SHO, I had a 91 Plus for my first car 17 years ago, so I contacted this seller. The Carfax showed it could have 155,000 or even 255,000 miles on it. The seller only had his word, the comment "the car speaks for itself", and a notepad the original owner used for calculating gas mileage as proof it hadn't rolled over. I was bummed to say the least. I was about to spend hours driving just to see it.

I received some pictures of the engine compartment via text and some blurry pictures of the steering wheel and dash. Didn't look like a low mileage.

The body and interior look good though. The house I'm selling closes in June, so if it hasn't sold by then I might offer half his asking price cash. $2-3000 for no rust and good interior would be worth it for me to build on.

That is what it us worth, $2 - $3k. Yes, seats are nice, maybe re done. Steering wheel and gearshift look more like 155k miles. Paint looks great, maybe it was garaged kept, or repainted.

How did car fax say it had 155? Based on the fact odometer rolls over? Car looks better than any 155k I’ve ever seen. Driver bolster is proof enough to me.

When it was bought by the current owner, there was a service done at a Ford dealer listing the mileage at 220+. No mileage history before that. The next service 6 months later documented the mileage at 130+. Then the following service stated 40,000. When I said something to him about the mechanic documenting the mileage different, he said he was the mechanic, and the information was bogus.

Suspicious and enough to question the validity. Especially if this guy works for Ford, he has access to replacement parts like bolsters....
