Hello all! I'm new to the Ecoboost world! Just bought a 2016 SHO couple months ago and have been looking online for parts. Anybody have feedback on the epp dual intake? Looks a lot less restrictive, however I did not find this until after my purchase of the Airaid system.

Seems like a bunch of people are installing the epp lately. Change your ptu fluid and welcome!

I wish the EPP intake would have been available (or I would've known about it) when I bought my Air Raid.

welcome to the group!

The EPP is a great unit if you plan for max effort mods. If you are relatively stock, you'll notice no difference between the EPP and Airaid intakes.

For the PTU fluid, most recommend every 15-20k miles.

ok, I did also just purchase the Unleashed Tuning power package. Next will be downpipes, which set would you recommend that's under $1k?

For downpipes, go with PPE. Vivid racing I believe has them the cheapest. As long as you don’t live in porter or lake county you can get catless for somewhere around $800.

Would you not recommend Livernois Catted DP's?

I wouldn’t give LMS a cent of my money. All they are, are rebranded. There is also Stainless Works which, I’m sure are fine but they are the only catted pipe I’ve heard of that can/will throw a CEL.

My livernois catless downpipes came in a american racing box with american racing sku numbers. After searching online and calling them, they offer them directly but the same price. Not sure if livernois changed since.
Edit: oh you ment the catted ones, my bad

How often does PTU fluid need changed? My car has 36k miles
This is a higher than average failure item. Mostly due to so much heat surrounding the unit, very little ability to cool the lubricant even with ambient air while driving-- it's tucked in there pretty good. It doesn't circulate and there is only 18oz of fluid in there.

Just keep in mind to do preventative maintenance on it on a regular basis. There are pics and vids on the internet. The guidelines from Ford when these things were released was it was a lifetime fluid. It is certainly not. If your local place insists on not doing it, find another shop or do it yourself. There is plenty of info in posts on here to reference. and vids on youtube also.

I personally run Stainless Works, but if in an emissions controlled county you won't pass and no tuner can turn off the CEL legally anymore.

If you don't want to mess with the CEL or any of the cheater tricks available on the internet, go PPE. Wish we were still a dealer but the juice isn't worth the squeeze so I just send people to them directly.
