Mustang Club of Mid-Michigan annual all Ford show, Birch Run Sept. 17th(east side). Note: In the past this has been an outstanding, professionally judged Ford only show. It draws a good selection of cars and they used to have a SHO specific category. Not sure if they still do, but depending on committment from Tri-State members I'll contact them to see if a SHO category exists and if they can put one in. Also, this show takes place at a nice, LARGE factory outlet mall... great show to take the less-than car enthusiastic significant other to I'd like to make this a big, regional event as well.

Mid October, Lapeer drag day (east side).

Mid-Late October, Cedar Point trip (N. Ohio)




Aside from other local events like BBQs, car shows and mechanical meets, I'd also like to work in the following:

QS&L meet down in Ohio, possibly another big regional event?

Dyno meet

Open track at GingerMan and/or more t & t runs at the strop

At this point with fuel prices the way they are I don't think renting a drag strip or road course would be a good idea as I just don't see enough people getting involved for it. I think going to these tracks on test & tune or open track days will suffice, and it will be a lot less work to set it up.

ive been to that mustang show back in 03. had a good time. we showd off my brother's 93 sho in the "sport compact" class or something like that. with all the yamaha emblems and polished sho intake. had a few people scratching thier heads. haha.

id be up for entering mine.


about gingerman. if all looks good jason8225 on behalf of TCCA will be holding another event in the fall like we did last year. its open to pretty much everyone. more on that will be discussed later in the year. we do it in conjunction to the Lapeer meet. so that would make it mid october then.

Couple more car shows to throw at you.

July 15: Mustang/Ford show at Ivy Tech Campus in Ft.Wayne. All the info can be found here. It's a very nice show with onsite food and if you need a break from the sun you can relax inside the campus. For those attending the Convention(not me), this will probably not work.

Date TBA: Mustang/Ford show on the west side of Lansing. I can't remember the name of the dealership it's held at or the date, but I will get the info ASAP. Bill and Chris may be able to help me out here.

Also, for camping, don't forget about Pokagon State Park in Indiana about 5 minutes across the IN/MI line just off I-69. That would be a great spot to camp out and then visit all the Automotive Museums located within 25 minutes of the park. Also close by is an indoor/outdoor go-kart track. 27mph on the indoor karts, not sure how fast the outdoor karts are. The night scene is pretty good too, being a college town.

Since the tracks are prolly gonna be a no go, this is what I've got so far.

John is there any other car shows up in your area this summer? I would love to attened some. For some reason you seem to have alot up there! I would be attened your show july 15th but i will be heading down to the convention! What about a meet here in Indy for the tuesday night open drags at IRP? Any body?

Hmm, I'll see how many of these I can make.

If I get my radiator replaced by the 6th you'll see me at Lapeer. I doubt I'll be racing but it'll still be fun to watch.

John, is that Lansing show the Blue Oval Blast? I was trying to find some info on it because I remember it being a pretty good show.

I should make a note... the northern lower MI camping trip is decidedly for those wanting to get away from everything for a bit. We'll be well and truly in the woods, no electricity, lots of hiking trails, a small but beautiful spring fed lake, a fat sandy beach and secluded enough to where you can't hear road traffic. I won't talk about the kind of star gazing you can do, but suffice to say I'll be taking a telescope that will let us see the rings of Saturn

I'll try to post some pics of the campground this evening.

Yeah, it's coming back to me now.......Volman Ford is the dealership and IIRC, it was in the later part of August.
