They told me you have to take classes and blah blah blah
I made them tell me the opposite in writing before I bought it. Sounds like you were talking to someone trying to sell you the dealer route. With the PRP you’re locked in to your own personal vehicle so they don’t care what you screw up. It’s all there. Finding what you’re looking for is the hard part, I’d burn through a couple hours sometimes trying to find a single parameter. Things are very ambiguously labeled, sometimes labeled wrong, seldom have useful descriptions, tons of tables with no description whatsoever and no units for the axes. I switched to HPTuners not because I had to, but because SCT was sucking away my sanity

A lot is locked from SCT, even with the PRP package. They are all about education, and while it does cost a lot to learn you come out with a lot more knowledge and access to a lot more which does give you an edge over the average laptop tuner. Most don't realize that you don't gain access to a lot of the VCT tables until you take the Coyote training course, which is primarily about Variable Cam Timing, which the SHO offers as well but many don't know about.

HPTuners gives you this function out of the box, and it's much more economical for a single vehicle aspect but where they get you is with the vehicle licensing. We've spent close to $30,000 just on vehicle licensing alone this year through HPTuners, where we spent maybe $4000 on strategy unlocks because once you're unlocked, you can tune anyone with that strategy code prefix.

Both have their strengths and weaknesses and we use them both multiple times a day.

I'm pretty positive dude, it's all there in the PRP. Literally first thing I did with the software was lock my cams into one position at a time and individually dial fuel and timing for each. If you want we can play a game, where you name a scalar or table and see if I can't snap a screenshot of it. Wait wtf why am I arguing in support of SCT?

Doesn't HPTuners not offer unlimited unlocks anymore?

We've pretty much stopped our expansion with SCT in the SHO market, we have about 45 open tickets for things we want fixed/changed and are just being told "we'll get to it soon."

We have about 10 in with HPTuners and they have added a good amount for us already, including module updates to allow for the nGauge to have ForScan functionality. We have a few test firmwares that allow you to change dark mode, disable the double honk, and a few others while more are being added soon.

We've also added some source switches in HPT that SCT doesn't have, but there is still more we need to have added. If you do notice anything you are missing or want and your requests aren't being met, PM me and we can get it added for you pretty quickly.

Just got my tune request in with Ortiz. I'm in the same boat, 2015 with 61k miles, bone stock. I'm used to datalogging with the X4 and have never had any issues with it so that's the route I went. Good luck.
