Hey all, I didn't see a purchasing forum so hopefully this isn't in the wrong place..

I'm going to check out a CPO 2016 PP with 26k miles this week (listed at $26,500). While I'm not new to the eco boost motors (currently drive a 2016 Focus ST) I am new to the SHO in general.

Even though it's CPO I still like to due my diligence in looking over everything mechanically. Any hot ticket things that I can look at while it's still in dealership's hands? Since it's a little ways away from me I can't bring anyone to help with a PPI..

Thanks in advance!

In addition to normal used car stuff like what the CarFax says, look for maintenance history, especially related to oil change intervals and ptu oil changes. Make sure the door keypad works, those are notorious for going bad, and check all the other electronic / electrical stuff too.

Never would have thought to mess with the door keypad since I've never had one... thanks!

Ask them to provide you with the RPO codes and service history from Ford Oasis, and since it's a CPO car they'll have the auction inspection report from the Ford inspectors. If it's a ford dealer and they tell you that they don't have or don't have access to those items they're full of $h!t.

Pulled the trigger, what an upgrade in luxury compared to my ST1. Hard to say whether or not my ST was quicker (stage 2 tuned)...2SbM80B

Just wait til you get it tuned....night and day.

Oh I have no doubt! But it's going to have to wait another 75k miles at least, bought the CPO for a reason and I don't want that bug itching me yet like it did on the ST

Congrats!!! My Lincoln is a CPO and has been tuned by LMS (running their 3-bar 93 race tune) for the last 35k miles and I have 15k miles left before the warranty checks out. You could just do a the 91 tune to play it safe and it's a noticable increase, but the real fun is the 93 tune... Who you pick to tune it is the important part.

Heck, even the angel on your shoulder will agree with the devil that the first thing you do is tune it!!!

That 93 race tune is that the highest tune u can have for 93 ? Isn’t there a soft and hard tune for 93 also ? How many different tunes for 93 are there ?

I don't know about the '13+, but for the '10-12 I believe they have 93, 93+ and 93+X. I never requested a specific shift firmness because I was happy with what they sent. I run the 93+X race tune as my DD tune.

Basic run down-
93 has a similar boost curve as stock (bleeds off boost as RPM gets higher).
93+ holds boost to redline.
93+X is a hotter version of 93+ that can benefit more from higher than 93 octane (100 octane).

Great looking car! Like everyone else said you can always start off with just a tune or just go with some minor bolt ons that are easy to remove and we include the stock file so warrenty wont be an issue as well as our tunes are the safest out there and still make great power! Shoot us a pm if you have any questions my name is cody and ill be glad to help you out!
