For 2015 20's became standard for SHO...I am fairly sure the Machined face is the Standard wheel and the 10 spoke low gloss was the option. It could be the other way around but I am pretty sure the ones in the above photo are the optional. I prefer this style, not a big fan of the "Flower Petal" design.

Love the color and tint....what is Illinois Legal for tint? Texas is 25% front and unrestricted rear. I was afraid to go full 25% for fear of being too dark. I had it done by my installer in Maryland and they had 50% 35% and 25% They didn't have 30 so I picked 35%. Wound up tinting out at 32% by local P/D. I was new to area and he did it as a courtesy no questions asked. The deal was if I was Above 25% no further action. If Below then a courtesy warning with no action allowing me to get taken care of prior to safety inspection.

Did you get the EyeBrow tint? the area above the windshield. Everything I see has no restrictions on darkness only area and non reflective and of course no Amber, Blue or Red. Definitely will help in the summer. I went 5% for Eyebrow tint down to about 4 inches from the top. Legal was lower but interfered with my peripehal vision.
It was 32% with their meter. With 15% on the windshield eyebrow. I got the ceramic film which reduces the amount of heat the inside of the car will see

Chicago Area? I would order just to see if they would allow me to drive up to plant and drive it off the lot.
I've tried that before with my 12 SHO I ordered and they gave me a BIG NO..lol

Hello BlueSHO,
Have you checked your VIN to see what your build number is?
It has to be a low number....
What's the build number the last 6 numbers of the vin?

I think so. Looks like a classic start for the Taurus this year.
Ford started at 100000
The lowest Bluejean SHO I have found is 100478.
Mine is 100141

I would be curious to see what the few numbers before and after your VIN would be.... A fairly easy way to get part of the VIN at least.

1FAHP2X X = Model. SE/SEL/Limited/SHO I believe Taurus starts at D (SE) E (SEL) I am pretty sure they do front wheel drive first then AWD K is SHO but they use L, M, N, P etc for the Interceptor sedan.

The site I used was the Ford Fleet VIN Decoder site but they removed public access...

8th digit is Engine
9 is computer generated check digit
10 is Model Year.....in 2010 They started the A-Z sequence minus I an O (Confusion with 1 or 0)
11: Plant Code......G Chicago
12-17 sequential number..............Mine was 177 (January 2014 Build Date.) Reference my 2013 SEL had 228 (Late May 2013)

Is the sequence specific to the SHO? Or to the Taurus? Or to any Ford product for that particular MY?

Good question. I'm thinking the 6 digit sequence number is all Taurus. Not sure though

That was part of the Ford Fleet Decoder ...Took a while but I found it........... I believe they reset every model year. Probably asking why the Interceptor FWD was After the SHO my guess is since the regular Taurus production codes were assigned it was easier to add the L and M. Note NO I.....easily confused with number 1

So my 000141 build number is the 141st Taurus built at Chicago assembly for the 2016 model year?
