Hello fellow SHO forum members, I'm new here. my name is Taylor, for my 21st birthday this past Wednesday I bought a 1992 ford Taurus SHO MTX for $1500. it has 210,000 miles on it and I'm glad I was able to buy such a high performance vehicle. it is a metallic forest green color with vinyl/leather and cloth seats. slowly but surly I am taking the interior apart and scrubbing the plastic pats and making them look like new again. the engine does need minor work, 1 the spark plug well gaskets need to be replaced and in general the engine could use a tune up. I bought the SHO from the previous owner who has owned it since he bought it from the dealership in 1992 which it was originally a demo car.

I do have 1 question, do any of you have the original premium/jbl system with the single cd player in dash? i'm trying to add on the cd player to my cassette deck which is stock but I need to find the part numbers for the wiring that goes between the system itself and the slave cd player.

I would check your local pic a part type junkyards for the slave cd player cable. It's actually two cables and a ground jumper. A thunderbird sc coupe will have the same cable set up as well, but it's a harder process to remove it from a thunderbird than a Taurus. Part Numbers won't help as ford will not have the part at this point. Did you manage to find a cd player? They can be iffy from junk yard cars at this point, but the same deck was used in mustangs up to about 2000 or so. Good luck! I thought I was the only guy who would spend the energy to keep the stock system working, most rip it out and go aftermarket. Kudos to you.

You'll find these cars can be addictive, so just be aware. Love to see pics.
92 is a cool cross over year. New body style, but still had a lot of the first gen suspension and steering stuff, as well as the old style console.

Also looks like your close to this years sho convention, supposedly it will be in Denver. Lucky you.

If you click the link, and then click the registration form, it has the prices listed. Fred(rubydist) is in Highlands Ranch, I know a guy that bought my '89 SHO off of 38th & Tennyson, Dan(Silver93sho) is in Fort Collins but moving to Lakewood in a week or two, another guy has 2 '89s in Fort Collins, and I have another friend that I sold a Black on Black '93 in Windsor!
