how's it going everyone. Name is Dan. Been working on cars for a good 11 years almost. I'm a certified mechanic. Live in illinois. I mainly mess with and usually buy alot of DSM's and honda's but decided to switch it up a bit this year and Bought a 94 SHO MTX. Its not a bad car. I do like it besides the problems i keep finding with it. Here is the scoop i put on other forums that i will copy and paste for ya guys.

So after searching of many different ways to waste my money from making money, tax money and selling shit here and there.....I finally got my mind set off of getting a minivan (still can't see myself mini vanning it yet with the kids) and found a few cars and picked this one.

Its a 1994 ford taurus SHO 5 speed

good trans
newer motor (60k miles)
among MANY other new parts

bad:
cracked windshield (being replaced immediately but its not bad)
needs an ABS Sensor
could use an alignment cause the steering wheel is a bit off but it drives straight
few dings and scratches here and there (its a 94 though so who cares, its expected)

Other then that it was a nice drive home (besides getting lost a bit in towns i never even heard of which is sad cause i live in a small town). has nice power for its size. shifts nicely. drives awesome.

it has 140k miles on the body. Came with extra intake, set of heads complete with everything and valve covers. extra tranny and some other stuff.

My main dislikes is that im not a big fan at all of the custom exhaust it has on it. You will see why in the pics. So i will definately be getting new stock ones cause i don't need another loud car.

only other mod besides the exhaust is a K&N filter drop in.

Here is a few pics. all negative comments are welcome lol.

yay for it snowing....joy.....

The SHO with my f20 turbo 16g accord

Now only thing is that im really not happy about is i went out this morning to drive my 5 year old to school and it was whining a decent ammount (power steering) so i just drove her down the street to her school and came back to seeing a rediculously HUGE puddle of Power steering fluid. It hasN'T leaked any since i got it (which was only 3 days ago though) but it did out of nowhere over night. Anyone know of a common leak on these? Or any possible SHO gremlins that go around driving new SHO owners crazy lol. I will be going to work on it later but can't till the lady gets home (got the little one) any help, comments, knowledge of the car, if known, would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou!

Also looking for NON-*** exhaust. lol thanks again!

Come to think of it Dan, I've got some magnaflow's in stock you might want to look at. unless you want it OEM quiet to keep the piggies away. Then you have to go with a turbo style muffler.

If you a little of both {sound, but not too much) expect to pay quite a bit for a custome made stainless steel three chamber with packing figure something along the lines of $150+ but they'll last forever!

Someone is going to want those mufflers you are taking off.
Too bad there is not enough room to tuck them up so you can't see them so dramatically.

We don't like certified mechanics round these parts.

As for the power steering leak...I can't think of a better way for a SHO to display affection for it's new owner than to *** at your feet.

this absolutely sound like a plan haha. its not even i guess that i hate the sound, cause its not really bad sounding, just they are gaudy looking ya know. I might even just straight pipe it (cause it will probably not get much louder, just to get rid of the awful look. but chris, i will check those mufflers out saturday when i come over.

Welcome to the nightmare!

alot of them are idiots. I only took a few Ase's to get paid more at a previous job. i think they expire anyways in April lol and i have no plans on taking anymore tests right now anyways. Anyone can read a book and take a test and pass it. Hands on experience is where its at!
