Also ac is full but not blowing cold, blower works freon in no cold air, any thoughts? I have been reading other threads,,,so many too choose from. Thanks:nut:

94 with 24 valves v8? i think you are confused, it's a v6, anyhow as far as reading codes, it's really simple, you don't need a code reader, just a paper clip and a pen and paper, as far as the a/c is is the clutch engaging, if so you may have a blocked orfice tupe, or expansion tube, i don't know alot about he a/c systems, do a search here on the forum under pulling codes, and you will get all the info you need to understand how to do it, good luck.

1) Pull your codes as suggested. Most shops can only scan 96-on vehicles unless they have an "old" scantool.

2) There's no freon in your system (nor is there a V-8 in an 94 SHO). Your system has R-134a (SUVA or equal). Before accepting that the fault is not due to refrigerant charge, what is your static system pressure? It must be at least 45 psi at ambient to enable the cycling switch. There are a number of common A/C faults including the clutch air gap, defective cycling switch, defective blend door, etc. Taking it to someone who is familiar with A/C system diagnostics is strongly suggested unless you have a guage set, a multimeter, and the skills to use them safely and properly.
