I've been lurking and reading for a while and finally registered this evening so I could join in.

Back when the first SHOs came out I was busy with my '91 LX 5.0 hatchback and have always been a big Ford/Mustang fan. Over the years I've owned a couple of Mustangs and other Fords but could always appreciate the SHOs, SVOs, and SVTs. Alas, a two door sports/muscle car not being too practical for me these days, and not having room in the budget for a third "weekend" vehicle I refused to give up the need for a vehicle that has style, character, and powerful performance. Enter the 2010 SHO! :dribble:

I went for a test drive a couple of weeks ago first in a Limited Taurus (just for comparison) and then in an Atlantic Green SHO with the Sport Package and that was all it took to seal the deal. I placed an order and a deposit for a Steel Blue SHO with 401B, 12S Sport Package, Navigation System, and all-weather mats last week. Working for a Ford Partner and getting X-Plan pricing was the icing on the cake!

I'm looking forward to delivery and to being an active part of the forum!

Thanks for all the welcomes! Actually I dropped by my dealer again today and looked at a couple of more regular Tauruses that were on the lot and a demo/dealer employee SHO just to compare some of the colors. I ended up changing the color on my order to White Platinum metallic instead of the Steel Blue. It was a bright sunny day but I could get both a bright side and shaded side look at all the colors and the blue just seemed to blend into the black lower trim. Kinda hard to explain, just made the car look less sporty and more of dull effect color. Even the brightly lit side of the blue didn't looked as nice as I thought, especially once I saw the sheen and brilliance of the white platinum metallic! It truly blew me away!

The ordering manager put in the change request in the computer early this afternoon and confirmed that the order had already been assigned a VIN. She agreed with me that it was still early in the order process (order was placed last Wednesday 3/17) so just to give it a day or two and she should have the confirmation that it has been changed.

One thing I researched and found out before placing my order is the early model year SHOs prior to 11/30/2009 and with performance package did not come with the backup camera. After that date all SHOs come with the backup camera including if you select the 12S Performance package contrary to what the early printed brochures state in the foot notes. This was confirmed for me with Ford by the ordering manager. It sounds like the camera is now integrated into the Ford emblem in the trunklid like the other Tauruses without spoilers, whereas before it was mounted below the lip of the spoiler. I've seen both. We'll see which I end up with when it comes in. Even the Build and Price feature on the website now shows the camera in the Sport package configuration at the end. FYI for those still looking to buy this model year.
