Hey everyone I just purchased a 1990 SHO MTX white with black leather/cloth combo for $200 from a friend of mine it has 157k on the clock and is in really nice shape(body has no dents). It needed a couple things like a battery, new front tires and a radiator. I've got to replacing these things so far myself. But I know the car will need a clutch sometime in the near future even though it doesn't slip now. I went by my mechanic today and asked him how much to do a clutch in the car and he just laughed at me and said he won't do it. He also said no one around will want to do it and the ford dealer won't want to touch it either.I mean with 10 hours listed as labor time i can see why but there's got to be someone around who can do it. Does anyone know anyone who works on SHO's in the MA,RI area and what kind of money they're getting on these jobs? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I picked this car up real cheap and it's really starting to grow on me. It runs better than my camaro and my mark VII and it has 100k more miles than the camaro and 57k more than the lincoln.

Why I believe you're in luck. There are members on this board in your area that do that kind of work. I think they're called New England Sho Specialists or something similar. I always forget the name of their biz. You'll find it if you run a search here.

First go check out www.shotimes.com , it has almost every repair there is with pics. As for the tranny, I would not worry if it in not slipping, just watch this board and you will probably see how it is done. I believe Shotime is in your area that does this kind of work part time. (I could be wrong, if so Sorry).

Eric

P.S. One heck of a deal you got there on that SHO.
