Hey. I just bought a 2015 Taurus SHO. Been doing some research and keep finding myself reading threads here. Decided to make an account. Well turns out my old account was still active. Back from 2004-2008ish I owned a 96 Taurus SHO. My last post here was in 2006. That's quite a long time to have an account remain on a forum. Glad you guys kept this place alive.
When the SHO came back I said "I'll get one eventually". The time has come.
2015 with 85k miles. Started life as a lease and then had two other owners. So when I first checked it out I was wondering why it seemed more sinister than others I've seen. Later that night I kept staring at the dealer pics and started comparing them with lowered cars. The next day I went to sign papers and took a look in the tight wheel well. Noticed a blue spring. Went to the back to look under and saw another blue spring with a part number. As I predicted, somewhere along the line one of its owners installed H&R sport springs. So less for me to spend on parts and time to install.
After I put some miles on it I'll get into tuning and bolt on parts but for now I'll enjoy it as it is. I know it's a big change from the V8 SHO. Since then I've also owned a couple supercharged Grand Prix GTP's. I definitely enjoy a quick sedan.
Actually my first change will be black vinyl chrome delete on the window frames.

Thank guys. I learned after owning a 3rd gen for a bit I should have bought a 1st or 2nd MTX. But its in the past. My 3rd gen was a black 96 with gray leather and chrome wheels. Paid $4k with 98k miles. Damn I miss those prices.
Had someone from NESHO in Spencer MA weld the cam gears. Drove down and spent the day at the bowling alley/arcade next door. Something in my memory wants to say his name was Kirk? I don't know but he was like head honcho SHO guy here in New England. Then had just issue after issue with the thing. Car sat for a while because of a license suspension. Then sold it to a local that previously had one. He had rolled his previous one. Then rolled mine.

So now that I've had time to get the real feel.
Realized there was absolutely zero power until 4k rpm. I get turbo lag but this was bad. Dont know what was in the tank when i bought it. I've only filled it with Shell 93 since. I ran CRC valve and turbo cleaner through the intake. Night and day difference. I feel like it was just gummed up. Car is an absolute animal now.
So I decided to order the Roush intake. The one that's the same as the Airiad and Livernois. Roush and Airiad were the cheapest at $349 so I went with the name closest related to Ford performance. It's on the way.
I've seen posts about intake heat and I've seen modified boxes with heat reflective materials on them so I also got some sheets. I'll just layer the outside of the box. I can monitor temps with my blue driver scanner and app. I've seen some people building top covers as well. I'm going to chalk or grease pen around the weather stripping on the box and build up the low points so the hood is the top.
I was supposed to install my Pioneer touchscreen for preouts and android auto but I forgot and ordered the intake instead.
So that's where I'm at. I'll let you know how it goes.
