Sides look great! But why did you let them be lazy and not take apart the rear deck to tint the third brake lamp opening?? I would have em do that again, looks cheap.

Other then that, good choice! Looks good!

do what I did ... take out the rear deck and paint the plastic around the light black and re-install. No light being blocked by the tint and it will blend a little better.

I just took my brake light off before I went down to have the tint done... Only took about 10 minutes and I'm glad I did- I didn't want the half-moon!

Tint looks really good though!

Unfortunatly I don't Sal, because it was on my 96 and I have since parted it. I have it laying around at my storage facilit....err parents house.

Use blue painters tape and mask off the red lense, overlap and use a razer blade to trim the excess and tuck in the tape around the corners of the bezel. I didn't use any primer nor did I sand it down. In retrospect I would spend the time to sand the bezel down smooth, or decently smooth because when you paint it the texture of the plastic will show through. When the paint is slightly tacky, carefully peel the tape off and let air dry for ~20 minutes or more to make sure the paint is fully dried.

Use light coats like always to prevent running and uniform coverage. Don't worry about painting over the little plastic nubs at the top of the lense. I didn't clearcoat it either, but thats up to you.

After all is said and done you will still be able to see the difference b/t the tinted area and the half moon around the lense. BUT with the bezel area being black it will blend in a lot better and at night the red will stick out 10x more due to everything being dark.

I wish I had a photo of it on my green car because it really did look killer. It'll take you ~1 hour or so from taking out the deck, painting and re-installing. :thumb:

Roland, take a decent shot of the back window and I'll try and do a photochop job for ya so you can see how it looks! I have 2 days off coming up so I might take some of the paint that I used for my intake and do this, when I do I'll post pictures. I don't have tinted windows, but I still think its a worthwhile visual mod.

I also painted my brake light housing before putting it back in, and painted another for WifeOfSuperHo. Mine was flat black as it is behind a blacked out window, hers I painted gloss due to it being behind clear glass. Haven't seen it installed yet... Mine can not be seen at all...

That reminds me I have to go take some pictures of my car... :)

ok, got the project done.... check it out. I'll have to get better shots when there isn't so much glare.

After painting, waiting for it to dry fully.

Installed with rear deck and backseat re-installed.

After install with brake lights on. You notice that it sticks out more than an unpainted light.

Remove the third brake light before you get you car tinted and get the hole window tinted.

Some states actually prohibit tinting over the third brake light, So that part is true.

As long as he is happy with it, thats all that matters. I did the same thing on my 96, painted the housing on the brake light and it looked just as good.

I pulled mine- they can't refuse to tint it if it isnt in there. It's like 15 minutes of work... Not that hard... 4 bolts rear seatback, pull the rear tray cover and three clips on the brakelight.

Tint is illegal in NJ on the front windows of the driver or passenger side, I was pondering if I should tint the back 3 windows only, but then again this is NJ. I should just get 20% all around and hope no cops bust my balls.

in NJ they will bust your balls. don't get 20% all the way around. most states have laws about the darkest you can go.

If anything put a light tint on the windows like a 35 or 50% just enough to shade it slightly
