The problem with slicks on this platform is you cannot do a burnout to heat them up. I think you may have better luck with drag radials or an r compound street tire designed to be stickier without the burnout.
Very true.

On a side note, to the OP, nice to see images of the car once again.

Sounds like you have some lofty plans with it.

Just watch that drivetrain and be sure you've swapped out ALL the fluids.

Keep the community posted on your efforts.

You can however put smaller wheels up front. Been done on a Flex, and I think with Mickeys too, but would have to check.

Thanks boss, I’ll keep the updates coming. There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of weight reduction talked about on the forums for the sho. Can anyone comment on weight reduction?

Depends on what extent you want to go with it quite frankly.

You can do "easy" things like removing seats, removing door panels, spare tire, etc.

Or you can crazy stupid with it, and spend the necessary time to strip it down completely to the point it's just a shell, or carcass of car.

Other things like smaller and lighter wheels. Lightening up brakes by going smaller, rather than larger. Consider a CF drive shaft, etc.

It's nearly limitless.

Just remember, once you dip into the 10's, most tracks I know of mandate you cage the car. There will also be stricter safety measures employed/demanded as well.

All things to keep in mind.

Have you found any CF drive shafts? I can’t find much parts besides performance parts. As far as suspension I have only found lowering springs and already have Megan racing coil overs. I would love to find some resources on performance parts OTHER than engine based products, i.e suspension, lightweight exhaust. The parts scene for this car compared to my ls1 gto is drastically different.

No CF driveshafts that I am aware of. there was one gentleman working on a group buy for such a product, but AFAIK did not happen. Some company in NC I think.

Maybe I’ll search for this thread. How long ago was this?

Within the last year, pretty sure. His driveshaft apparently fell apart on a high speed cruise of the Autobahn.

He's still working on it.

I am just returning from an extended vacation.

Last I spoke to him was prior to my depature.

Ehhh... If you say SHO and don't clarify, you're saying it's the fastest SHO, and it's not. So, if you don't denote Gen 4 or Ecoboost, you're not the fastest, period. When Zach says he's the fastest SHO, he doesn't have to put a caveat in there. ;) And this is the SHO Forum, like it has been for nearly coming up on 2 decades. :)

I dare you to do that, the new motor will not allow that competition, but by all means. ;) Not sure about the talk about speaking on others behalf... You do realize this is my project to work on as well, right? So... I've tuned the FASTEST SHO. ;p

No, saying it out of context in a sub-section is still incorrect... Just like it would be anywhere else.

I own the fastest Subaru...

That resides at my house.

See, same thing. You can rationalize it all you want and say it on the "SHOFORUM", or any other damn forum and it still does not make it right stated as that. PERIOD.

Hello fellow sho owners, I would like to introduce myself to the forum. I just sold my nightmare first car (2004 GTO). Now I am officially the new owner of mike b’s 11 second 2011 SHO!

Soooo........

How did Zach's car run at the Convention?

Did he set the bar even faster with the 'Blue Turd'....?

If I recall correctly, wasn't his last (record) run an 11.55???

There was no drag event at this convention and the car isn't tuned to run down the track yet. I am hoping to fly out within the next few weeks, probably after my dyno tuning day in Omaha in August.

Ahhhh..... ok.

Was hoping he would've set the bar even faster.

His last drag though, least as far as he posted, was the 11.55 run, correct?

His last? Was in the 10's... I think his fastest trap on low/medium boost was in the 140's? I know his fastest pass was 10.7.

I think ultimately, 8's...

But we are going to do what we can with the current motor, which is a piston swap (13:1 compression) and head studs. When we have gone as fast as we can with that and/or blown I up, we will switch to the real "built" motor.
