Proud new owner of a '14 non pp SHO. Love the car so far, and excited to put some miles on it!

The car is a bit too quiet for my tastes, and i would like to make it a little louder. I've watched every video I can find on the muffler delete, but obviously that doesnt give you the exact real world sound. My concern is the car being "annoyingly" loud or too loud. I'm all for loud cars, but am in an area that i have to be concerned about excessive noise levels.

Maybe the owners who have done the muffler delete can give me some insight? How does this mod compare to other cars and exhaust systems? Does it attract unwanted attention? Any complaints?

Ive got a place near me that will do the job for $100, so it is a worth while mod in my eyes as long as it isnt excessively loud.

From what I've heard, they have god awful drone around 2500 rpm and sound terrible. I guess some people can like it, but I think they sound terrible.

My Police Interceptor has essentially a SHO PP drive train (or visa versa) and had the muffler deleted when I bought it. Essentially straight pipes with 18" megaphone tips.
Bear in mind that it is resonator deleted from the factory so is a bit different.
Here is a video by the dealer I bought it from-- http://interceptorking.com/inventory/awd-2013-ford-interceptor-sedan-3-5l-ecoboost-twin-turbo/
After driving it for about 3 hours to get home to Washington and a couple of trips to Portland I put the mufflers back on. There were a couple of harmonic spots that buzzed so bad the interior was buzzing in sympathy with.
Your mileage will vary because if you have resonators.
Went thru a tunnel and hit it and my daughter following behind me thought the tunnel was going to collapse. LOUD under throttle but otherwise seemed reasonable.

18" would be hitting the ground do you mean 6" even that's BIG but measurement is from inside to inside.

Sorry but I am from the old days when what you drove made "IT" longer rather than wider. Now it seems you have to have a Diesel pickup with a 55 gallon drum tip to win.

I did it to mine and it really isn't bad at all to my ears. It's fairly loud at cold start but at highway speed you can barely hear it. The only drone it has isn't really rpm related. It's in 2nd gear, when accelerating. After I get to speed it quiets down. We just got back from a 600 mile road trip and it didn't bother us at all. Now, with catless downpipes, I'll probably weld in some straight mufflers or resonators to tame it a bit.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Much appreciated. I decided it best to forego this mod at the time, and use the money towards a tune and keep the sleeper aspect of the car for a while longer.
