Wednesday night after work I was walking to my car and something about my exhaust tips looked weird. Upon further examination, the passenger side tip was leaning sideways.
So, I called the exhaust shop where I had my Rhino mufflers installed and set up an appointment for yesterday. Got a call at work. Passenger side muffler was rotted out and that's why it was hanging. Driver's side one didn't look too good either. So, I asked the guy what mufflers they had and he said that they had some 'stockers' which I guess were nearly OEM as far as sound and also some 'Flo-Pro' mufflers that would be similar to the Rhinos, only all stainless construction. I asked him if they had FlowMasters, he said yes but they were 'very expensive.' I'm thinking why wouldn't he want to spend more money on more expensive mufflers? That would be similar to me telling a customer at work that they should buy a 1/2 carat diamond instead of the 1 carat because the 1 carat was 'very expensive.' jpshakeh
Anyway, I reluctantly agreed to the Flo-Pro mufflers. Observations so far are that they have very similar sound to the Rhinos, and it even felt that off the line torque was increased just slightly.
On the plus side of the whole thing, when my wife dropped me off at the muffler shop, I looked in the garage and there was my SHO on a lift and there was a green 94 SHO right next to it getting some exhaust work done, too. I asked who's car it was and talked to the guy that had it there. It's his son's car so I asked him if he knew about SHOForum and he said he didn't think so, so I gave him one of my SHOForum 'business cards' that I made up with my email address and the website's address on it.
I thought it was a unique opportunity, so I grabbed my camera and snapped a couple of pics of our cars. Unfortunately there was a huge truck with a trailer parked just in front of the garage so I wasn't able to get a pic with both cars at the same time.
