Was wondering if there was something magic about the 12s

Yes, there is. The first time I was at the track, it hot, humid and there was a headwind. I ran 13.1 and was totally bummed out. The next time I went to the track, conditions were better, I had learned a few things and I was in the 12s. I immediately did cartwheels, summersaults and backflips. Huge psychological difference between 13s and 12s.

My "PRE TUNE" DYNO session was 266HP AT Wheel and 320 lb.ft. A little over 35% loss from the OEM specs of 365HP. I am pretty confident that the 87 octane was a contributor to the low number hP but not sure what that % of a factor.

The "Post Tune" DYNO went up to 322HP and 392 or somewhrere in that area.

Yes I was hoping for higher with the runs at 93 Octane and LMS Stage 1 V10 tune. I did everything possible to help numbers like empty vehicle and low fuel tank to reduce weight including me not sitting on the vehicle........... Was I looking for higher.....you betcha but 322 puts a gain of a little over 20% from 1st DYNO. Am I O.K with the 56 HP increase.....again YES! Talked to LMS and outside of the DYNO being out of calibration not much I could have done. As they say....It is what it is and short of a major event I will live with it.

The post tune DYNO was V1093 Octane tune, 160F thermostat, three bar MAP sensor, new out of the box Motorcraft spark plugs (6) and the wind storm CAI kit, and a fresh oil change less than 200 miles on fresh oil.

I know my 2010 manual stated that if using 87 octane it's expected to make 355 hp. So if you were using 87 octane when you made 266whp that's about a 25% loss and is pretty ballpark with AWD.

VERY funny interpretation of "12s"... as I wasn't specific, lol. Well played sir, well played. I had heard a while ago that the 2012's were just a touch faster than the 2013's for whatever reason, don't know if it's true, but the conversation made me wonder.

So, it's spring, and I finally got around to installing my new mods. I figured since I was swapping out the thermostat I'd do a coolant flush - probably the first change this car's had. Still working out the old antifreeze at the moment (letting it drain now)... so I haven't had a chance to test it out yet... excited though!

See new mods list in my sig. :D
How many miles on your SHO and how did the coolant look when you drained it? Any junk come out?
and my 2011 uses the Motorcraft Specialty Green coolant. Anyone know why the coolant changed to the orange version and what the difference between the two is (BESIDES color ;))?

Sorry...I didn't mean to be a smart@ss. I honestly thought you were talking about quarter mile ETs. It is my understanding that the 2010s - 2012s are pretty much identical. The 2013+ models had some changes that required differences in tuning. The end result seems to be pretty much the same in terms of performance. There are always exceptions. SHOnUup4's 2011 is exceptionally quick. I would like to see his car put on the scales. His times make me think his car is lighter than most..... :)

Oh, I wasn't offended at all!! I thought you were being funny, and funny it was. (From my perspective.) Even then, smart @ssery is A-OK with me. Good times, good times. lol.

I seem to have a similar scenario to SHOnUup4 - but with a 2012. Similar 1/4 mile on 2Bar. Not sure with the new 3Bar tune, haven't had a chance to try it out yet. (Still in the shop waiting on the stupid plastic radiator drain **** sigh.) First chance I get, I'm going to test it out though. I should probably start checking the schedules at tracks, see what's coming in April.

Yep, sure did!! Just do yourself a HUGE favor, and DO NOT OVERTORQUE the plastic drain ****. You will regret it. lol.
How did you get the drain **** open? A 3/4 inch socket fits over it, but there is no room for the ratchet. It seems to be pretty tight too.

Open ended wrench! Old school! You could possibly get away with a socket if you used a jointed extension, but a wrench worked quite well. A little too well :eeeeeek:. Be careful!
