Randy, 5-6 SHOs?? Must be a huge dealer. Most the dealers around here have 2 SHO's, A Limited and a SEL on the lot.
Good question. My dealer friend told me that the zone rep was told by Ford that distribution of 2010 Taurus in general was going to be shifted at the beginning of Job #2 for heavy distribution in the northern states. And People south of the Mason Dixon line would not be allocated less cars.
And if I understood correctly, dealers are not yet allowed to order Taurii for inventory yet, they just are getting what they are given.
The place I deal with had two SHOs and a Loaded SEL (202A). Both the SHOs were fairly loaded. One was a 401A (Sunroof, Heated/Cooled seats, Sony 12 Speaker) with Nav and Perf Pkg, stickered at 41,***. The other was a 402A with Nav and Adaptive Cruise.
Its also interesting to note, that Package 402, which has all the goodies like BLIS, Rear window sunshade, and optional distronic cruise etc, is NOT available with the SHO Perf Pkg.
I wanted a 400A Car ( a "stripped" SHO), with 12S Performance Package only. There was only one in Tuxedo black, and it was in a dealer in Kansas. When we called on it, the Gen Mgr was using it as a demo. So I decided in order to get what I wanted, I had to order. By that time the computer was only accepting job #2 cars (i.e. 400B), which is cool because it includes a backup camera as standard in the car. There was a 600 dollar price increase, but I understand I'm covered under price protection because I ordered before Nov 20.
Thanks for the welcome guys. Dealer said 4/6 wks. Ordered a Candy Appple red with blk.leather int.and pref.pkg. Dealer found a couple in the area one a steel blue (ugh) and one with 700 miles on it. Only 2 equiped like i wanted. Said no to both so ordered one. Had a atlantic green there which i test drove really liked the paddle shifter but not equip. the way i wanted.
Order says 400 b.Guess that means base SHO with one option?
When i ordered my 03 Cobra back in March of 02 there were only 2 options available ,chrome wheels and spolier delete.Do not like a lot of gingerbread on my cars.
