well, i picked up a 1990 SHO
a little less than 40,000 miles (i was told orignal)
white!
it sat for a good time of its life
the guy i bought it from had it kinda bootlegged wired.
so im trying to learn all the wiring.. makes it really difficult

since i've had it, it has been overheating.. but as long as i put water in, it's fine.
hopefully this weekend i'll get it checked out.. hope it's nothing major.
i do want to replace parts.. but have no idea of what i should do (not too familiar with cars) maybe just some basic upgrades..

it is dirty from sitting.. but it's driving somewhat..
and im gonna be giving it a gooood bath!
im not sure how to clean the engine bay.
oh, and as you can see, some of the stuff in the bay has been moved around..

Got any more pictures of the interior? Sorry to say it but that car looks like it has 140k on it. Oily gunk doesn't just appear on the valve covers from sitting too long.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong... but it looks like the cluster was swapped.... you didn't buy this at a dealer did ya


Get a coolant pressure tester... put it on the radatior, pump it up to just under 20 psi, and listen for your leak. Should be something simple. Most of leaks are loose clamps, or old hose.

what should i check for to see if the cluster was replaced??
and i will be getting it pressured checked now!

it is weird.. like.. no trunk carpet, rear speakers, carpet in front and back are loose, back seats cloth is loose, bunch of weird wiring in the trunk.. i guess for the lights in the back.. i'll take some more pictures!

i just got it a couple of days ago also, so im still getting around to doing things to it, but.. i already love driving it!

I think it was 91-95 that had the style you have... and to add to that, I think only the 91 was one with only a 5 digit odo. I'm *pretty* sure the 89-90 had the checkerboard style..

Any SLO or SHO seats will bolt in 89 to 99.

If you want full fonctionality of the electrical stuff on the seats , then you need 89-95 SHO seats.

you definately have a SHO, but there have just been some things like the seats that have been swapped for some reason!

Welcome in. Your car appears to have regular Taurus seats in it. It is missing the center console as well. This can all be swapped with 1990-1995 parts. Good luck getting her running. Ask many questions, we're here to help.
