Just bought 2013 sho pp. I really want a tuner but cant decide what to get...here's my predicament ....after lots of reading it sounds like maybe the Livernois tune is a bit more "polished" or trusted. But they don't offer any type of monitor for the 2013 sho. I can get a SCT tuner from unleashed with the Livewire monitor but im not sure I trust the tunes as much or if they get as much performance out of the tune (safely, dont want to hurt my new car) because there just isn't a lot out there as far as reviews go ?? Any advise?? I emailed Torrie at unleashed and although he responds almost immediately his responses are extremely vague and i fell like there's a lot i don't no about what he offers. On the other hand I spoke with Anthony at Livernois who explained how the tuner works, what i can expect, and was generally extremely helpful and seemed eager to answer and and all questions I had, even the stupid ones! :) Thoughts??

This is a real powder keg on the forums. I would advise you to make your own personal choice based on what you have learned doing research and what your own personal preferences are. That being said, I am very happy with the way I went.

You won't go wrong with either as far as tunes go. As far as monitoring performance, you can create your own setup with a bluetooth OBD adapter and a variety of pieces of software like Forscan, Torque, or Dash Commander. Widely done & liked.

What exactly are you looking to get out of your tune?

the best performance gains possible without sacrificing drivability or reliability.

Easily accomplished! Just stick with a tune + minor mods if you are so inclined (cooler thermostat, 3 bar MAP sensor, etc.). Would definitely advise upgrading spark plugs to SP534 and gapped at 0.030. If your SHO is brand new, just regap to 0.030. With these mods, you'd be at/over 400 AWHP!

The only "driveability" issues you might have is as the ECU/PCM relearns the new parameters after the tune. After that, enjoy!!!

Respectfully, I disagree with the horsepower figure above. At least based on my dyno. Most tunes will get you about 340 or so. Add Methanol and you'd be around 400. If you do tune, definitely gap the plugs at 30.

All depends on which dyno you're on for HP numbers.
The key is with a tune mid/low 13's are easily possible and in some areas of the country due to good elevation and cool air 12's.
Meth injection on top of the tune will work wonders as you can increase timing from the cooling effects of the water/meth.
Downpipes are also a huge addition for power as well.
