New here, don't have a SHO but am looking for one. I want a PP but am having a hard time finding them, how common, or rare, are they? I've lurked around here a bit and read up on what to look for, like steering wheel, spare, wheels, etc. Just seems kind of hard to find. Does the vin give any indication, or anything else I can look at that will tell me?

Most likely you will have to travel to find one. I live in AZ and bought my PP in Cali. I was willing to fly there and drive it back. If it wasn't what they said it was (It was and so much more) I was only out time and money.

Did ford ever release any numbers, like what percentage of all SHO's had the PP?

What part of the north are you from? I'm in the same boat, so hopefully we won't be fighting over the same one. lol

I have not seen after 2013. If I can’t find it again I will post it.

Edit: don’t have it on my phone. IIRC it was roughly 7500 total SHOs in 2013 and 3000 or so with PP. don’t know how that translates to other years.

Good luck on your search, it took me about 2 or 3 months to find my perfect PP. Like sm105k said be willing to travel, I ended up getting mine from Cincinnati and I live in WI (talked them into delivering it though so I guess that doesn't really count lol). What are you looking for as far as year, miles, color etc?

ask for lots of pictures and don't be afraid of a long drive and some air fair.
most dealers don't know what they have as for PP or not AND don't be afraid to work the price as their market is soft unless the buyer knows what your looking for!
The said part is SHO's are getting harder to get then new.

I found mine at a local dealer and they had no idea what it was or it's value. I pretty much stole it from them lol. Always check out any one you're interested in, you may be surprised.

I stole mine too. They had zero idea it was a PP car and they were the original dealer that sold it when it was brand new. I let them know when I was driving out of the parking lot, and the salesman just smiled.

Reading some of these posts just makes me realize I got lucky scoring my SHO. Only a 40 minute drive for me...But I don't think they knew it was a PP.

So is the alcantara wheel pretty much a guaranteed PP? When browsing for sale pictures, I usually just look straight to the steering first to make sure its alcantara, assuming that's a good strategy for finding a PP
