Hello fellow SHO owners,

I'm trying to find out if there's potential interest in a new gauge panel for the Gen 2 SHOs.

I recently developed some contacts in the plastics industry, and may be able to mold a gauge panel for the console, where the cig lighter and cassette holder is (similar to the cincy sho panel).

It would be available painted black, or ready to paint in a bare white (for those with custom colored interiors).

Anyway, if you're interested then drop me a line. Also, tell me what kind of arrangement you would want (2 2 5/8" gauges, or 3 2" gauges). I'm unsure on pricing, since I'm not quite sure what's all involved in production, but I would guess that the price would be in line with current gauge panel offerings.

Having the piece molded would give it a very professional, finished look. It would look just like a stock piece, and it would be exceptionally strong.

Thanks for any input!

Kinda hard to see the guages down low. Thought about moving the A/C control down near the radio, which would place the guages near eye level where they should be - and who needs the A/C readout to be at eye level anyway - but decided on an A pillar 3 pod for Greddy oil pressure and temp guages, Heart Interface digital volt/ammeter.
I have been thinking - DVD surround sound is the future, so how about working the upper console area to accommodate a center speaker? Anyone consider future sound, which is actually already here, which really does need a center channel?

I'd be very interested, except I need the cig lighter for the cell phone & radar detector.

Another thing I'd be interested in (Shawn...?) is a passenger side triple gauge pod.

Ok people, I need professional help. Somebody HELP ME...

you can hard wire the radar detector into the map light (above the rearview mirror) Thats What I am going to do with mine. Although, you probably could hard wire the cellphone too into the other maplight. They are able to be on and off, but you wont have any map lights.. unless you want the light on with the features.

I'm almost positive that you could fit 3 gauges AND the cigarette lighter in there... At the very least, you could fit 2 gauges and the lighter... Since the mold would produce blank panels, you could have it drilled to accomidiate a wide variety of possibilities (gauges, switches, lighter, etc)

I've seen a panel I think is for a Volkswagen that will accept 3 2 1/8" gages that will fit. I have a cheap cutout panel for them now, looking to improve on that.

 This is what I did, I removed the coin/cupholder and fabricated a 3-guage mount.

Looks good Jeff - especially without a floor shifter. :)

I have to find a place for my 9-band EQ in order to do the DIN panel replacement, and I'd have to see if I could lower the deck & still get a CD in there with the MTX shifter & Hammer shift head on mine.

Right now, my deck's on top, & the half-DIN EQ is in a custom DIN panel down low.

here's an idea, how about a package with 2 gauges and then one small hole for the cigarette outlet. Well at any rate i am really excited to buy one of these panels, please let me know when they will go on sale. my email is [email protected]

If you remove the ashtray assy completely, there is enough room for a DIN sized panel.I have 2 switch panels and a 2" VDO guage w/bracket mounted there. The only issue is it`s a bit difficult to access the slider door on the tray.

I simply replaced my ashtray with 3 2" gauges. They are tilted up at a slight angle, and very easy the see with a quick glance. I think they are easier to see than the top or bottom radio DIN spaces. The light for the ashtray (which I removed) is already a perfect setup for the gauge lights w/dimmer as well. Dots below the gauges are the superbright warning LEDs.
