I got a few boxes of goodies from the FedEx guy the other day. Heres some pics of my project. I'm building an equal length, catless y-pipe, 2.25" primaries to a 3" collector, after the Magnaflow muffler it transitions down to 2.5" and back to a y-split, down to 2.25 back to the stock tips. Other mods are a tune from Paul at NESHO, deleted secondaries and IMRC. The y-pipe in the pics is just a mock up of all the parts, it has not been measured or fitted yet.

Enjoy!

I demand to know where you ordered this from! PM with the price. I've got a crazy hair to do this too when my car gets the transmission rebuilt and I'm hopefully driving my sisters old Contour when she gets a newer car. Can't wait to see the finished project!

Two :thumb: up!

Might I suggest putting a flanged connection before the flex pipe. Otherwise, you have to remove the entire exhaust if you ever need to drop the subframe. Is that 304 Stainless, or Aluminized Steel?

Thanks guys. I'm looking foreward to getting it running. Hopefully it works as good as it looks

pcross_53, it's all from Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeg's

Silvapain, I'm going to use the stainless exhaust clamps for some of the assembly, they look cleaner than the bolted flanges. The pipe is all aluminized mild steel, however I picked up a few cans of VHT high temp paint. I painted my flowmaster mufflers (and welded areas) with that stuff 2 years ago when I welded them in, as well as the pipe I welded in to replace the 3rd cat and the paint holds up very well through the Minnesota winters.

I don't drive the car that much in the winter and wash it quite a bit so I'm not worried about the tubing being aluminized mild steel.

I should have this together in the next two days so keep tuned for updates. I'm not going to tell much about it until I can see that it actually makes a difference on the dyno as well as sounds nothing short of spectacular. I want it to do more than just look good, if it dose I will be more than happy to pass on how it was made and what was used. If not, well, atleast it looks cool :nut:

Well after a few trial runs for fittment here is what the final product looks like. I still have to weld it together and fit the O2 bungs to it. It took quite a while to get the lenghts the same. They are with in 1/4 of an inch. They are both basicly 58" long back to the merg in the y. I'm hoping that they are not too long but I guess I'll find out. Here is some pics I snapped of the new pipe next to the stocker. Yess that is a loop that goes around and underneath tward the back. It dose hang down a bit and there will only be 5.25" of ground clearence at the lowest point but it dose sit the same height as my Mach 1 chin spoiler so if that hits it should be an indication that the exhaust will as well. Sorry for the quality of the pictures, my good digital camera is dead so I used my video camera for pics. Enjoy!

I'll get some better pics when my camera is charged and I have the whole thing welded together.
