I just finished installing a new Clutchmasters Organic clutch, PP, new ceramic TOB, new fork bushings, rear main seal, replaced the water hoses, etc., etc., etc...

However, I still have the clutch egaging very high in the clutch pedal travel.

When I originally did the ATX/MTX swap, the clutch would engage a couple of inches off the floorboard.

I adjusted the cable slack, so it should have taken the correct possition at engagement.

I am considering changing the clutch pedal itself, and the clutch cable.

Any ideas as to what is causing the problem?

Mine engages almost at the floor as well so not sure if we have the same problem or maybe a stretched out Clutch Cable?

Mine engages way high also. I'm sure it's the fork. I have a couple of MTX-III forks that I need to have bored to fix the fork shaft. Other than than hole diameter, they're identical to the MTX-IV forks.

So are of they all the same? Is there one that engages quicker than another? I am curious because I have always been used to clutches that engage with very little pedal movement and both of my (one previous and now current SHO) SHO's almost go to the floor before engaging.

The clutch fork did not look bent, but I had nothing to compare it to.

I have not yet changed the pedal or the cable.

I will check the fork tomorroe.

im sure the only way to tell is by taking it all the way out and putting it side by side. that might be alittle tough.

I am going to loosen the cable at the pedal end and ratchet it again tomorrow.

The engine is running great, and it just wants to run. I have 20lbs of oil pressure at hot idle. It shows 60lbs at the start.

The tranny is shifting so smooth it is unbeleiveable. I changed the tranny fluid with 3 qts. of fresh Royal Purple ATF, and I added 4 ounces of Limited Slip additive. The additive is made for clutch limited slip differentials, but even though the Quaife is a gear differential, it makes shifting smoother.

I have to address several other small things. The rear bumper is falling off, and three of the window's electric motors are not working. I found a rebuild kit for the motors and will post some photos in the the coming weeks on the rebuild.

The SHO is getting old. I've had it for 16 years. I need a new car soon.
