Hey guys,

I just picked up a Tuxedo Black SHO with Brown suede inserts!

It has the premium audio in it and I need a bit more. My issue is I have NO idea where the speakers are all located and what size they are.

I've done some lurking around here and seen replacements that people have made but I just wanted further info on the speakers that are already in the car.

Thanks!

A couple of quick comments first.

Welcome aboard, congratulations on your purchase. We love photos hint hint@!!!

Do you have the SONY system I do not know too many SHOS without it but have to ask.

They should be 6X8 for doors, 3.5 Center Instrument Panel and 3/4 or 1 " for tweeters.

If SONY system I am not totally sure about the rear deck I am pretty confident in saying 6X9 but of any 2010-2012 SONY system owners can chime in please do.

For Doors I recommend Kenwood KFC 6895 series. They are drop in replacements and should be plug and play but you have to splice or solder the OEM wiring harness to the new speakers but fairly simple. If you need wiring diagrams let me know and I can also send install photos.

A lot of owners report the stereo system itself is good but the common weak link even with SONY systems is the cheap paper speakers. Changing the door speakers will make a VERY GOOD head start towards system improvement.

I just noticed Pittsburgh, if you get serious about changing speakers let me know I can physically help instead of just photos.

It does have the Navigation/Sony Sound System.

I am going to look into those speakers you suggested.

I will post pics. I just really have not had the opportunity to photograph the car yet. I will though!

Again the door speakers are a very good head start towards sound system improvement. I replaced door speakers, tweeters, and center. After all that I eventually went with a low profile SUB. If you are looking for those 6.5 speakers you will probably need an adapter plate but If I remember correctly it was done recently I will do some further research and see if I can find where the adapter rings came from.

Thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it!

I will second the cruchfield.com recommendation I used them for technical support. The speakers them selves should be available on Amazon for under $100 for the set of four. The Kenwood's I am referring to.
