So, only had this SHO about a week, but when I bought it I knew it would need valve cover/oil well seals replaced as the rear spark plug holes were so filled with oil they were over flowing.

Replaced the front valve cover easy enough. Got em nice and clean, used RTV on the cam **** corners and on the well seals. The rear is where I am having a problem.

I had to fight to get the cover out, but I got it. Now, I have that rear wiring harness zip tied and bungee corded out of the way as much as possible. My big problem is the heater core hoses. Do those need to come off to put the valve cover back on? I was following directions from shophoenix.com for the 60k service on how to replace them and it didn't state they needed to, but I don't see a way to get them back on without either removing the heater hoses or removing the fuel rail piece on top. Any suggestions? Or am I just too dumb to get it back in LOL.

no, I never had to take the heater hoses off. but, it is a trick - you have to sort of twist the cover around and get the passenger rear side down first, but not too much first or the rest won't go down over the cams and stuff.

when you have it in place (before you put in any bolts or tighten anything), take a mirror and a flashlight and make absolutely and totally sure that the gasket is in place, because there is a 99% chance that it will have come off in the passenger rear area. as you would expect, if the gasket is not in place, you have a giant oil leak...

Seems tricky alright LOL, I don't see how to get in on without upsetting the RTV I put on the cam bumps in the corners. I really don't see a way unless I don't have the wires up and out of the way far enough, but even then, the driver side of the valve cover is hitting the heater hoses as I try to get in on, almost seems easier to remove everything LOL, I guess I will keep fighting it. I keep trying to get it in without the gasket on just to figure out how to do it so I don't mess up the gasket.

Thanks for the help Rubydist, I took a couple dry runs and figured out how to get it in there, then put it all together, and checked the back with a mirror to make sure it wasn't rolled, seemed to be on good, and got it all tightened up. I think I will save putting the intake and all back on for the morning LOL. Thanks again.
