Hey guys I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a set of TSW Sebrings 8.5"

The issue I am having is finding some proper rubber, apparently a 8.5" wheel leaves you in a weird limbo land with tires. I would like a wider tire then the stock 245 and keep the sidewall as close to stock height as possible if not a bit lower.

Unfortunately just about every size the 1010tire calculator says is close to stock sidewall, is either

too wide for the wheel (275/40 20) (according to 1010, internet argues about it)

raises the side wall (255/45 20) (265/ 45 20) (which I don't want) (I may be being a bit neurotic here as it isnt much)

is some orphan size with few to no options (265/40 20) (1010 also says no to fitment, internet argues, tireshop friend says 265 will fit)

or ungodly expensive for no apparent reason (255/40 20)

I am also trying to stick with an high performance all season tire which probably isn't helping.

I am not so much worried about the speedometer being correct as I am fairly certain that can be re-calibrated.

I have considered a 265/ 35 20 but again fitment and im concerned about ride harshness.

can anyone give me their experiences with an 8.5 wheel and let me know what sizes they decided on and their ride experience?

I have 255/45/20 Continental DWS06 that actually run wide for their size. Go to eBay right now and they are offering $100 off any tire(s) over $400. So you can buy what I mentioned twice and save $200.

Here’s mine on stock rims and would probably appear a touch wider with your wheels:

I wouldn't do 275 on a 8.5" wheel. Do they make a 9" version of that wheel, I am looking at possibly pulling the trigger myself on a new set of wheels and TSW makes some in 8.5 and 9" versions.

They do make some 9" but not in the sebring in a 20" and while I haven't checked every TSW wheel, the ones I've seen that do come in 9" they don't offer in our bolt pattern which is irritating but it is what it is.

No it doesn't look like the Sebring come in 9" width. Discount tire shows a few of 20x9 TSW wheels that fit the SHO.

Well, I pulled the trigger today, wheels and tires are on there way, stuck with the sebrings in black (great wheel, terrible car) and while I intended to go with BFgoodrich comp 2 A/S the tire guy talked me into the Continental DWS06's, gave up a bit in traction for a more well rounded tire, plus I know alot of you guys run them so you must know something.

Keep us posted on your DWS06 tires! I just bought a set last year and they're trashed after just 12,000 miles!!! Not kidding! The car is not out of alignment, I didn't do any aggressive driving, no road courses, etc - just 12,000 miles of commuting to my job and daycare and home! One 600 mile round trip at 80mph. I don't know what happened but I am very disappointed in the DWS06! Luckily, Continental is warranting me almost $700 to put towards new tires!

Looks good. What size tire did you end up going with?

Do they look any wider than stock? The stock 245/45 on the stock 8" wheels look way too narrow IMO.

Would 275 40 29 fit on stock PP 2013 SHO, and not rub. Anyone have experience with this size on stock rims.

I’ve been told yes, but you have to go 1/2” wider with rims
